Squat III
Occupied Room 12 in a vacant government transportation building in downtown Piotrkow Trybunalski, Poland.
Rooms in the building were being used for various video installations and performances during the Interactions Festival (2000). During one of his alotted evening performances during the festival Barber publicly declared the vacant building to be a squat for the use of indigent, homeless and itinerant members of the local population. The artist read his sentences on littoral art to the assembled audience and encouraged would be writers to occupy the squat for periods of up to a day to participate in the construction of a manuscript for the world wide web. For one evening the website was video projected on to the exterior of the building.
